Every country has its own dishes and gastronomy, and every country offers an incredible dish. However, you can find some weird foods or recipes that don’t sound so appealing, besides every good dish. Most of the recipes are as old as the country, and it’s simply heritage, but we recommend you beware or try some of these dishes.

Blood Stew
A blood stew or blood soup is precisely what you can expect, a soup made out of blood. In the Philippines, this dish is called Dinuguan and is a meat-based soup with a base of gravy made with pig blood, garlic, chilli, and vinegar. If the soup blood sounds way too intimidating, you could try blood sausages. People sell them in skewers, and they are delicious.
Century Egg
By the name, you can guess that the dish in question has an egg, actually, a fermented egg of some sort. You can eat them in many Dim Sum restaurants, or with porridges and traditional dishes. Century eggs can be ducks, quail, or chicken eggs preserved in a mixture of ashes, salt, clay, and rice husks over weeks or months. Flavour-wise, it tastes like something you fermented, so if you like that, you should give it a try.
Snails
You can find snails in several countries, and most of the dishes that involve them are delicious. For example, in France, the dish is called Escargot, and they are often prepared with butter, garlic, and some herbs. The final dish is amazing, it’s very tasty, and you can easily eat it with a toothpick or a special fork. You can also find them in Asia with coconut milk, having a very subtle yet delicious flavour.
Anything with Durian
In Asia, Durian is very popular and is really tasty once you can get around the odour. Many people in Malaysia and Indonesia consume it, and several desserts and smoothies use Durian. The flavour is intense yet creamy, sweet, savoury, and refreshing if you mix it with the right ingredients.
Balut
This is probably the most daring dish you could try in Asia, and we dought that you could find it tasty. Dalut is a dish that serves you a fertilized duck or chicken embryo, boiled alive. You should eat it while it’s still in its shell, so you can taste all the juices. Again, this dish doesn’t sound very appealing, but it’s high in protein and vitamins.
Lamb Brains
Thanks to England, some countries, like England and India, serve brains with toast as a delicacy. You could have a dish where they wrapped the brains with prosciutto and fried it to create a very crunchy, tasty treat. Also, you could eat them braised over toast, like they sometimes served them in India.
Kui
In Latin America, there is a fair share of weird dishes, and there’s one in Peru that is very tasty, despite its looks. Guinea pigs have been bred for food in Peru for centuries, and we can’t blame them for this. They served these rodents roast or in stews, like bunnies. Overall it’s a traditional dish, and it tastes like bunny meat.
