Last night the O2 arena was visited by a number of famous musicians and artists. The 2021 BRIT Awards celebrate artists from the UK who have made a musical impact at home and abroad, as well as artists that have relevance internationally thanks to their trajectory. This important evening was hosted by Jack Whitehall and featured performances from a number of national artists.
London vibrated with applause and live shows. This was a massive event as it was the first live performance since the Covid pandemic. The event was attended by four thousand guests who were not obliged to wear masks or keep social distance.
Of course, the gala honoured the best of British music, as well as international music. The show began with Coldplay’s performance of their song “Higher Power”, and continued with several more performances from Elton John, Dua Lipa, The Weeknd, Olivia Rodrigo and many more.
The other performers who caused a bit of a stir were Little Mix, as the trio of Thirlwall, Leigh-Anne Pinnock and Perry Edward, the latter of whom recently confirmed that they are pregnant.
The members of Little Mix, the winners of BRIT’s British Group caused a lot of tenderness when they announced that they’re pregnant! Also, the first woman to receive the BRIT’s Global Icon was Taylor Swift, and Billie Eilish won BRIT’s International Solo Female Artist award. Powerful energy was almost tangible when Dua Lipa took home the Best Female Solo Artist awards and BRIT’s Mastercard Album with Future Nostalgia. Certainly, an evening full of girl power.
Tell us who you think deserved an award if not the artists who received them. Or maybe there was an artist who wasn’t nominated but you’re sure I had to be there? We are all ears for your comments!
