Today was the Apple event that showed the announced improvement of their new chip. The new M1 chips could be the game-changing asset the company was developing to compete with other brands. So far, we didn’t know well what those new chips could do but, after today, we are sure that plenty of users will want to have one of them today.
Even though most of the event focused on the chips, we must talk about some other improvements. There are new functions and improvements on the connectivity and the display on every laptop they announced. We will dig a little bit more about this and the major changes they shared today.
M1 Pro: The most powerful chip to the date
Until now, MacBooks worked with Intel chips; however, with the M1, this changed. The first apple design chip is similar to the ones they’ve been using in iPhones and other gadgets. The most innovative of the chips it’s how they are built, their multitasking capacities and their efficiency working with images or large files.
The CPU, GPU. RAM, SSD controlled, and many more components are bundled inside the chip. This allows it to efficiently task different chores at every core, working faster with less power. On the other hand, the chip doesn’t need to make copies to share information with different components; in other words, you save space too.
Universal Apps
Before many changes, apple had flawless connectivity between every gadget, which makes you want to have every single device they launched. That changed a lot, but universal apps could bring the connectivity factor back. Universal apps will be able to run on both devices flawlessly with little to no difference between them.
Developers may be the ones to enjoy this news the most because they can create an app that will run in every gadget. Connectivity-wise, this is a game-changer because you can use many apps in your Mac as well on your iPhone without having to buy it twice or change the data.
Overall Upgrades
Besides the two major upgrades we mentioned, there are some others we should mention. The displays of every laptop are more powerful, being able to handle almost a 7.7million pixels. Every speaker, the microphone, and the webcam were upgraded, the last being able to film 1080p pictures. Finally, every laptop brings back the HDMI ports, SD card readers, and other iOS and Apple products ports.
