Taylor Hawkins, an American musician, was born on 17th February 1972. He was well-known as the drummer of Foo Fighters, a popular rock band. Taylor has recorded nine studio albums with the band from 1999 to 2021.
Before that, he was a drummer for Alanis Morissette and Sass Jordan. He also worked as a drummer in the Sylvia, a progressive experimental.
In addition, Taylor had his project in 2004, in which he was the drummer and singer. Between 2005 and 2019, he released three studio albums. One of his achievements is that he was voted the “Best Rock Drummer” in 2005 by Rhythm.

Taylor Hawkins’ Death
Sadly, Taylor passed away at age 50 on 25th March 2022 in Bogota, Colombia. On the same day, emergency services were called by someone from the Four Seasons Casa Medina hotel in Colombia with claims that Taylor had chest pain while in his room. By the time the health personnel arrived, Hawkins was unresponsive. They did Cardiopulmonary resuscitation unsuccessfully when he was declared dead. At that time, they didn’t disclose the cause of his death. The following day, authorities announced that a preliminary urine test showed that the artist had ten substances in his body. The substances included opioids, tricyclic depressants, benzodiazepines and THC, a compound found in cannabis.
Tributes
Taylor’s band Foo Fighters announced his death on Twitter in March, stating that his musical spirit and laughter will forever live with them. On 29th March, they cancelled all the upcoming shows. On 25th March, Hawkins was supposed to perform with the band at the Estereo Picnic Festival in Bogota. The band was on a South American tour. The stage was turned into a candlelight vigil on the night of his death.
Miley Cyrus dedicated her performance in Lollapalooza, Brazil, to Taylor. His longtime friend Liam Gallagher also dedicated Live Forever to the late artist during his London concert and described him as a brother and source of joy. Recently, Elton John, who had worked with Taylor, also dedicated the performance of “Don’t Let the Sun Go Down on Me”. Other artists that paid their tributes to Taylor Hawkins include Roger Taylor and Chad Smith. Another tribute was paid to him during the 64th Grammy Awards on 3rd April 2022.
Tribute Concerts from Foo Fighters
As mentioned in this article, Taylor passed away hours before the band’s performance at the Estereo Picnic Festival. The band cancelled all their tour performances thereafter. To pay respect to their member, the Foo Fighters will perform two tribute concerts in Los Angeles and London. The remaining band members – Dave Grohi, Chris Shiflett, Nate Mendel and Rami Jaffee, will be performing during these concerts.
Family’s Involvement in the Tributes
The Foo Fighters have teamed up with Taylor’s family for the two shows. His wife, Alison Hawkins, posted a message on her husband’s Instagram account in agreement and support of the tribute concerts. She stated, “My deepest thanks and admiration go out to the global Foo Fighters community, and Taylor’s fans far and wide for the outpouring of love each and every one of you have shown our beloved Taylor. Your kindness has been an invaluable comfort for my family and me during this time of unimaginable grief.”
