After finally being about to be replaced, we believed that Jamie Spears would leave Britney alone. However, it looks like he doesn’t know when to stop. Right now, he is asking for extra money to resign from the conservatorship, money that arguably he doesn’t deserve. This coming after weeks of listening to how he did the “best” for his daughter.
On Monday, Britney’s new lawyer Mathew Rosengart filed new court documents about this. He claims that Britney’s dad tried to “extort” them for $2 million on those documents. Jamie said that the money would be a “compensation” for his job as conservator for the singer. This happened after he agreed to step down from his legal role, thanks to Mathew.
What do we know about this?
According to Rosengart, Jamie wants Britney’s state to pay $1.3 million in attorney’s fees, $500,000 to his former management company, and additional payments to him. By filling the court paper, Rosengart sent a clear message saying that he won’t negotiate with Jamie. Also, he added that he won’t give him any money after all the declarations Britney has given.
“Britney Spears will not be extorted”, wrote Rosengart in his court filing. “Mr Spears blatant attempt to barter suspension and removal in exchange for approximately $2 million in payments, on top of the million already reaped from Britney’s states by Mr Spears and his associates, is a non-starter”.
He continued by saying that his stipulations for stepping down are “inappropriate and unacceptable”. Jamie Spears hasn’t addressed these new allegations, but we hope that everything works out for Britney and her legal concerts.
