Barney and Robin (How I Met Your Mother)
These two characters seemed to complement each other, as they saw each other as equals, accepting each other’s good and bad. We know that Ted loved Robin first however she loved Barney more once they began their relationship. Finally, Barney and Robin get married, filling all the fans of the series and the couple with excitement. But, this love story ended in the last season when they announced their divorce. This fact was marked in every How I Met Your Mother fan’s heart.
Mia and Sebastian (La La Land)
“I will always love you” is the line with which Sebastian and Mia from the Oscar-winning film La La Land end their passionate relationship. This was a plot twist, as everyone expected these two to end up together. However, the pursuit of their careers takes precedence over any effort to maintain their relationship. So it was a stake in the heart when Mia coincidentally goes to the bar Seb always dreamed of owning and stops for a minute and smiles at Sebastian as she contemplates what their life together could have been like. In the final scene when Mia leaves, sharing one last look with Sebastian as she leaves is something we will never forget from that great film.
Finn and Rachel (Glee)
This couple touched our hearts in the series and real life. So get your tissues ready because you’re going to cry when you remember this tragic love story of Finn and Rachel. In Glee, these two were already graduated and were getting married, but instead of taking Rachel to the church, Finn took her to the train station to go to New York. After that, Finn disappeared. The protagonist returned six months later, saying that he had joined the military but was discharged because he had shot himself in the leg. Rachel, meanwhile, was in a new relationship.
But this was not what left fans heartbroken. In real life, the actor who played Finn, Cory Monteith, died in 2013 of a drug overdose, preventing him from marrying Lea Michele (Rachel). In the show, Finn died, but they never explained how. So not only did the couple not end up together on the show, they didn’t end up together in real life either.
P.S.: Wipe your mobile phone and your eyes from tears because the next couple you will read about will also open that wound again.
Peter Parker and Gwen Stacy (The Amazing Spider-Man)
Gwen Stacy was one of the great loves of Peter Parker’s life, a long-lasting romantic relationship that sadly ended when she died in The Amazing Spider-Man 2. As we may recall, Green Goblin kidnapped Gwen after he found out she was Spider-Man’s girlfriend; when Spidey arrives at her rescue, he finds her unconscious, on the verge of falling off the Brooklyn Bridge. But, the villain causes Gwen to fall, followed by a slow-motion scene where Peter throws his web to catch her, but abruptly a “Crack” is heard, giving the audience a hint that it was too late and that Peter’s great love was dead. A scene that still leaves a lot of emotions in the fans.
Rory and Logan (Gilmore Girls)
In the seventh season of Gilmore Girls, Rory turned down Logan’s marriage proposal, as she was fresh out of college and confused about her life. Rory and Logan later have an affair while he is engaged to Odette, a French woman, to make his family happy. However, when Logan starts living with Odette, Rory decides to end their romance.
