Eminem is one of the best rappers right now, and some time ago, he adopted a lot of children. Now, Stevie, who is 19 years old, made an announcement on TikTok, telling their followers that their new names and that they are non-binary. They said their chosen pronouns were “they/she/he”.
This is good news, visibility-wise. A few famous have come out as trans, bisexuals, and more, but there are few non-binaries. However, they and Demi Lovato are great examples of high profile non-binary persons, meaning more non-binaries will have models for them.
How did this happen?
Eminem legally adopted Stevie in 2005, after talking again with his ex, Kim Scott. Since then, both have been together, and they have been high profile on TikTok and other social networks. Recently, in one of their TikTok, Stevie tracked their transformation before revealing their name.
This famous video began with the words: “Watch me become more comfortable with myself”. Here, we saw all their changes and how they try to be more comfortable with their body images. The video was very well received even by their family, being liked by one of their sisters.
Stevie had a hard life before they were adopted. Their father, Eric Hartter, died of an alleged drug overdose in 2019. After his divorce in 2001, Eminem couldn’t talk to Kim about adopting her until 2005 because both were terrible terms. After this, he also adopted the Dawn daughters, Kim’s late twin sister, after she was found dead by a drug overdose.
