Maybe the name Thomas Markle doesn’t ring any bell when you hear it, but he is famous. Or at least he is as famous as you can be if you are the half-brother of Megan Markle. He recently was spotted in Sydney’s Airport, a couple of days after another big brother contestant was deported.
After Katie Hopkins was deported for violating quarantine rules, Markle was called to join the cast. She attempted a prank that could endanger the hotel staff; in consequence, her visa was revoked, and she was sent home. She tried the stunt as a form of protest, due to her extreme views on immigration and COVID-19.
What else do we know the new Big Brother contestant?
Caitlyn Jenner is joining the cast too, wanting to be part of the show even though she is running for governor of California. She flew from LA and she’s currently in hotel quarantine. Her and Merkle’s arrival is huge news in Australia because Australians can’t return home due to country politics.
Merkle Jr obtained a “Critical Skills” visa to be allowed to get into the country. Channel Seven said about this that “Seven ensured the arrival of international artist in Australia does not impact or impede on Australians returning home. Any international artist associated with Seven is on arrangements that exist outside of the flight cap.”
Finally, the filming of Big Brother will be done at a purpose-built in Sydney’s Olympic Park. Right now the set is being constructed even though there is a ban on building works in the country. The producers said they were granted special permission and the show expects to be on air later this year.
