If you ever use the internet, you probably know who Elon Musk is. You might know him only because he is the CEO of Tesla Inc but he is more than that. This inventor/entrepreneur has been very prolific over the years and his inventions are already shaping the world. Tesla Motors
This is probably why we all know Elon, the Tesla motors. The company was founded in 2003 and since then, it’s revenues have reached $1.24 billion. The car itself is an electric vehicle, sustainable, that doesn’t need oil. Inside this invention, we got another one, the Powerpack or Powerwall, the battery system that fuels the car.
Almost everybody wants a Tesla, and since the Model 3 is already on the market, the company can’t keep up with the manufacturing. For now, the Model Y is back on the market to solve this a little bit. The company is also selling shares of stock to fund capital to expand itself.
Space X, Reusable Rockets
Elon Musk is a space enthusiast and Space x is the result of that. Founded in 2002, this company is as famous as Tesla because the Falcon 1 and the Falcon 9. Both are reusable rockets, designed to reduce the cost of space transportation and make space colonization possible.
Low-cost solar panels
Solarcity, co-founded in 2006 is one of those companies that aren’t as popular as the previous ones. Solar energy is already well known and Elon didn’t invent the panels, but he did create low-cost alternatives. This is the second larger provider of solar power systems in the USA and the company is working on solar-powered charging stations for electric vehicles.
Zip2, online city guides
As one of his early creations, Zip2 was a city guide software. This idea was born as an easy-to-access database for newspapers, so they could offer city guides for online users. The company was founded by Elon and his brother and later was bought by Compaq for $307 million.
X.com, or email payments
We all love Paypal and we probably use this site daily, but before being what we know now, it was X.com. This company was co-founded by Elon Musk in 1999 and was a financial website focused on email payments. In 2000 the company merged with Confinity and became Paypal. Only 2 years after that, eBay bought this powerhouse for $1.5 billion.
